Roundtable: "Siglo Latinx: New Perspectives on Spanish Golden Age Theatre Performance in the Americas"

Presented at the annual conference of the Canadian Association of Hispanists (Asociación Canadiense de Hispanistas) in May by Erin Cowling, Lorena Rojas, and Natalia Soracipa. This roundtable offered an overview of Siglo Latinx's collaborative work with artists across the Americas and of our 2026 creative project, MICROCOMEDIAS.

Theatre Workshop by Natalia Soracipa

Following the roundtable, Natalia led a 20-minute theatre workshop in which participants explored a variety of theatre-based activities to incorporate into language and literature classrooms. The workshop introduced practical, interactive strategies for fostering communication, creativity, and deeper engagement with literary texts. 

Through theatre games, dramatic readings using Laban's Eight Efforts, and embodied activities, participants stepped outside their comfort zones to play, move, and experience literature in new ways.
