Gabriela Villanueva Noriega (Ph.D., El Colegio de México, 2015) is a professor of Modern Languages at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), specializing in early modern literature, theatre, and Anglo-Hispanic cultural exchanges. Her research explores transnational literary connections, particularly between seventeenth-century Spain and England. She has published on Cervantes, Milton, Margaret Cavendish, and picaresque fiction, and recently translated Mary Wollstonecraft’s Letters Written in Sweden, Norway and Denmark (UNAM, 2024). Since 2024, she has coordinated the Early Modern Performance Studies Research Seminar and collaborated with Diversifying the Classics through the Mex-Clásicos initiative, connecting literary scholarship with theatrical practice.
